Career Pathways

Pathways To Success

Co-curricular career pathways involve creating customized learning paths for each student based on strengths and interests. This Co-curricular program bridges the classroom instruction with real world activities across multiple disciplines. Students take thoughtful risks, engage in experimental learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration and work through the creative process.  The goal of the Career Pathways Program is to provide insights and methods for making pathways to future possibilities more transparent and tangible for students.

Learning Pathways & Co-Curricular Activities

At UYSS, Co-curricular refers to activities, programs, and learning experiences that complement, in some way, what students are learning in the classroom—i.e., experiences that are connected to or mirror the academic curriculum.

Learning pathways refers to the specific courses, academic programs, and learning experiences that individual students complete as they progress in their education toward graduation.

While a learning pathway may encompass a wide variety of educational experiences in diverse settings, these experiences are typically connected to school courses and programs (i.e., what students are learning in school), while also allowing students to satisfy graduation requirements.

The Learning Pathways’ Program at UYSS is an inquiry and design-based program that seeks to inform how learning experiences can be designed and linked in ways that facilitate the student’s journeys towards understanding who they are, who they want to be, and who they can become. The goal of the Learning Pathways Program is to provide insights and methods for making pathways to future possibilities more transparent and tangible for students.
